Eurovision Dance Contest 2008 – we were robbed!

Since nobody else has had the kahuna’s to post about this, I thought I would write a little something on behalf of anyone who watched. For the record, I watched purely to spite my Dad. So, the idea is similar to the Eurovision Song Contest, but with dancing. The difference was supposed to be that because it wasn’t as publicised or famous as the Song Contest, the voting would be fairer and not biased either for/against other countries.

Either I’m horribly wrong about our entry being excellent, or the voting is still biased because we didn’t even make the top 10 after a fantastic effort by Louisa Lytton and Vincent Simone. We were robbed, cheated and degraded by some shoddy judges and biased voting.

The winning act by Poland was boring, slow, and not in the least bit entertaining. I’m going to admit I know nothing about dance, but I can still say that, going by the judges comments, and what I’ve read online and heard on the news that most people would back me up.

Our UK entry had much more effort and variety in it than most of the other entries and I can only assume people voted politically. If Louisa dancing in a sexy little red dress and Vincent flirting for all the girls can’t get votes then heaven help us. They really exceeded expectations, did us proud and can walk away heads held high.

Now, I’m off to start a fanclub and buy a sequin tunic. Ta-rah!
